About my practice

About

I am a visual artist making paintings about everyday experiences, using my own unique visual language to make sense of the world. The meaning behind the work is not always overtly obvious, there are subtle clues, symbols and characters within each piece. It’s a world of imagination, where emotions and feelings are communicated through the language of colour and marks.

Creativity to communicate

Art is a valuable, often underestimated, form of expressive communication, that we tend to loose as we become adults. Practicing art can help improve our ability to express complex ideas and emotions visually.

Well-being

The act of creating art requires you to be fully present in the moment, this helps reduce feelings of worry and is a great distraction. Art making is a form of active meditation that allows your mind to be focused and at ease. It’s good for our mental health.

Opportunities in abundance

Art making is a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.

Mission

To share art that uplifts, brings calm and joy. To express emotion and life, using colour, line and form to create harmony and happiness.

To work collaboratively with other visual artists and organisations to share skills and experience to enable others to pursue art making.

To create meaningful, lasting impact by promoting the amazing benefits of living with, and creating art.
